Medicare Advantage (Part C) — Why It Might Work For You

Many are turning to Medicare Advantage (Part C) instead of the traditional plans. Why do some look into getting this type of coverage? Who can get it? And is it worth doing so?

FutureWise Insurance can help you find the answers you need.

What Is Medicare Advantage (Part C)?

Some opt to go with Medicare Advantage (Part C) for many reasons. Think of Medicare Advantage (Part C) as a blending of the benefits you would receive from Parts A, B, and D. You receive the hospital and medical coverage you would normally receive with both A and B, plus some prescription drug coverage you would receive from Part D. But you can also receive additional benefits that you would not normally receive.

Who Can Get It

Are you 65 or older? Currently, enrolled in a Medicare plan Part A and Part B? And are you a citizen or a permanent legal resident of the United States? If you said yes to all three, you qualify. While still being in the Medicare program, your benefits would be paid through the Medicare Advantage (Part C) policy.

Benefits of Medicare Advantage (Part C)

As was stated above, while Medicare Advantage (Part C) covers your hospital care, doctor visits, and other medical needs under the Medicare program, there are other benefits. These benefits could include prescription drug coverage and other programs that you would not normally receive with Parts A or B. Also, Medicare Advantage (Part C) is administered through private insurance companies, like us.

An additional benefit is by law, all insurance carriers offering Medicare Advantage (Part C) are required to have a spending cap limit on all out-of-pocket expenses.
